The Bachelor and Accelerated Master Pathway for MSIS is an integrated, five-year program that is designed for students at the Shidler College of Business who want to earn both an undergraduate and graduate degree in Information Technology Management. In this program, students may complete up to 9 credit hours of work in the MSIS program in their final year of their bachelor’s program. The remaining 21 credit hours are completed in one year as a graduate student in the MSIS program. Shidler MSIS majors will be able to apply to the MSIS Program toward the end of their junior year or early in their senior year. This program is for students who wish to enter professional careers in technical fields, such as business analysts, project managers, security analysts, or system development and implementation. *Applicants who do not meet these requirements may still be granted admission but may be required to take a placement exam at the time of matriculation and/or to take English language classes in addition to their MSIS course work.

Notes: Minimum 45 upper division (300+ course) credits are required. Students must incorporate all focus requirements into this plan. Focus designations (i.e. W,E, O, H) are CRN & semester specific. 1Students must take one IB elective, which may double count as a non-Business or non-Major class. 2-3 non-business / non-major classes (9 semester hours) are required, internship may substitute for 1 class. 2MSIS Pathway class. Must pass with “B” or better. Students who take in Fall of Year 4 can be admitted for Spring (Year 4) pathways. 3Double-counting of BBA/MSIS courses (up to 9 cr - ITM 433 (FA), ITM 631 , ITM 654 , ITM 683 (SP)). ITM 433 counts as MIS major tech elective and is required for MSIS. ITM 683 will count as MIS major tech elective if no other course, including ITM 433 is taken as an MIS elective. Only one MIS major tech elective is included in the BBA MIS degree and possible for double-counting with MSIS. 4Students may elect to take 3 or 6 credit hours of the 6-hour Capstone in the Spring, Year 5. Otherwise, 3 credit hours of ITM 696 are required in Summer, Year 5. 5Students may take ITM 431 or ITM 631 , which will count as both a required MIS course. Only ITM 631 double-counts for MIS and MSIS. Students may take ITM 354 or ITM 654 , which will count as both a required MIS course. Only ITM 654 double-counts for MIS and MSIS. |
